ABC is an American broadcast television network owned by the Walt Disney Company, which started out as the radio network NBC Blue. It is often referred to as the "Alphabet Network", as the letters in the name are the first three letters of the alphabet.

The company had the rights to air A Charlie Brown Christmas, A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving and It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown from 2001 to 2020, airing all three at least once on dates near their respective holidays. ABC acquired the rights to those specials in 2001 after they had aired on CBS for the previous 35 years.

ABC has also aired nearly all of the Peanuts specials that were produced after the death of Charles M. Schulz (Happiness Is a Warm Blanket, Charlie Brown aired on Fox instead). Two of these, A Charlie Brown Valentine and I Want a Dog for Christmas, Charlie Brown, continued to air on ABC annually near those holidays for several years after their first broadcast. In later years, ABC aired other older specials as well, such as Be My Valentine, Charlie Brown, Charlie Brown's All-Stars and Happy New Year, Charlie Brown! through 2020.

ABC's contract to air the Peanuts holiday specials ended in 2020, with the three above-mentioned holiday specials moving to Apple TV+. In November of 2020, PBS picked up the rights to air the Peanuts specials through a deal with Apple.
