Ed Bogas (born February 2, 1942) is an American composer and musician who provided music for the majority of Peanuts animated cartoons made from 1977 to 1989. Bogas is married to Desirée Goyette, with whom he collaborated with on mutiple Peanuts and Garfield specials.
Bogas began working in the music industry during the 1960s, where he performed with bands before working on composing for advertisements.[1] Bogas began working on Peanuts features following the death of Vince Guaraldi in 1976. Originally, Bogas collaborated on scores with Judy Munsen, but by 1983, Bogas began collaborating with Goyette while Munsen began working without Bogas.
Many of Bogas' scores for Peanuts imitate the musical style of Guaraldi, using piano riffs, synthesizers and strong bass tones. Two scores composed by Bogas and Goyette for The Charlie Brown and Snoopy Show were included in Peanuts-based Guaraldi compilation albums, with the tracks being erroneously being credited to Guaraldi.
