Janice's two unnamed sisters are very minor female Peanuts characters who has never appeared in the strip, but appear in the TV special, Why, Charlie Brown, Why? They are two girls who explain to Linus about how Janice's leukemia affected them. They were voiced by Brittany Thornton and Lindsay Sloane.
History
Linus goes to the Emmons household to give Janice a present for Christmas, but is instead greeted by her little sister. She explains to him that Janice is at the hospital again getting one of her treatments. The older sister comes by and the little sister introduces her to Linus and that he got Janice a gift. This annoys her as she complains that Janice nowadays gets more presents and attention than both of them put together ever since she got diagnosed. She later adds that's Janice has become a real nuisance because she and her little sister have to be so careful around her and that they cannot get sick around her as she could catch it from them and it would be very bad for her. Linus asks her if she really means it, but she denies it by stating that they felt left out lately since Janice got sick. As Linus leaves, the two sisters look under the Christmas tree to see Janice's huge pile of presents. The little sister later states that maybe it's a way for people to show that they hope Janice gets well.
Physical appearance
The little sister has curly light brown hair with a blue bow on top attached to a headband. She wears a blue pleated dress, blue socks and saddle shoes. She looks similar to Frieda Rich. The big sister has short red hair with a yellow bow on top. She wears a yellow dress, yellow socks and saddle shoes. She looks similar to Patty Swanson. Unlike their sister, they have round noses.
Their appearances in the book adaptation are very different. They both have short hair in a pageboy-like hairstyle and wear red long sleeve shirts, white pleated skirts, red socks and white shoes. The only differences is the little sister has brown hair, her shirt has a scarf and she wears saddle shoes; the older sister has red hair and her shirt has buttons and wears Mary Jane shoes.
