James "Jimmy" Bennett (born February 9, 1996) is an American actor. He is known for his roles as a child actor in Daddy Day Care, Hostage, The Polar ExpressPoseidon, and more recently in Orphan and as the young James T. Kirk in Star Trek. He voiced Roo in Winnie the Pooh: Springtime with Roo and Pooh's Heffalump Halloween Movie. He is currently starring in No Ordinary Family as JJ Powell, a teenager with vast intelligence after a plane crash.

Bennett provided the voice of Rerun in He's a Bully, Charlie Brown and I Want a Dog for Christmas, Charlie Brown.

He has also been in thirty commercials.


Bennett was born in Seal Beach, California and now lives with his parents and his sister in Huntington Beach, where the family owns a crepe restaurant. When not acting, Bennett plays guitar and sings. He wrote and performed the song Summer Never Ends which can be heard at the end of the film Shorts.
