The unnamed bully is a very minor male Peanuts character who has never appeared in the strip, but appears in the TV special, Why, Charlie Brown, Why? He is a very rude and obnoxious child who teases Janice for losing her hair and is later confronted by Linus who explains her situation. He was voiced by Dion Zamora.
Role in the special
When walking in snow, he notices Janice's pink cap. He then mockingly asks her if the cap could fly and then flips the cap off of her head, revealing her bald head from the chemotherapy. He then proceeds to laugh at her and call her a "baldie", causing Janice to start crying. This infuriates Linus, who angrily asks what is the matter with him to which he responds by asking what is the matter with Janice, as she has no hair. As he continues laughing, Linus yells at the bully and angrily confronts him by stating Janice has leukemia, and she has taken chemotherapy to help her be cured, being the reason why she is bald. He furiously then proceeds to ask him how would he like it if he had been in her shoes. Ashamed, the bully apologizes and hands Janice her cap. When Linus and Janice leave, he states that he likes Janice's cap. He is last shown cheering for Janice as she grows her hair back.
Physical appearance
He is a little boy with short brown hair. He wears a green shirt with a white "B" on it (possibly meaning bully), green pants and brown shoes.
Trivia
- He shows many similarities to Joe Agate, as they are both bullies, both are confronted by two main Peanuts characters, and both own up to their actions. Considering he appeared five years before Joe Agate and that Schulz never considered the TV specials canonical, it is possible he was the inspiration for the character.
- He almost looks like a male version of Peppermint Patty, as they both wear the same colored attire and have big noses. The only differences are that:
- Their outfits are very different; Peppermint Patty wears a t-shirt, shorts and sandals while the bully wears a long sleeve shirt, long pants and shoes.
- He has red hair while Peppermint Patty's hair is light brown.
- Peppermint Patty also has freckles while he does not.
- He is one of the many bullies behind Joe Agate, The Camp Bullies, Thibault, Violet, Patty and Lucy.
