SpongeBob SquarePants is an American animated series that airs on Nickelodeon created by the late marine biologist Stephen Hilenburg.

It is chronologically the tenth of Nickelodeon's Nicktoons and is currently the most-watched show on Nickelodeon. In 2007, it was named by TIME Magazine as one of the greatest television shows of all time. It also broke a record for the most amount of episodes aired in one year, with 45. It is about the misadventures of a talking sea sponge who works at a fast food restaurant, attends a boating school, and lives in an underwater pineapple.
